The Bit About Me …
Winner of the John Gassner New Play Competition (NY), Dionysis Cup (Chicago), and a two-time Heidemann award semi-finalist, my plays have been featured in festival productions, showcases and workshops in New York, at Chicago Dramatists, Stage Left Theatre, Victory Gardens Theater, Infusion Theatre, 20% Theatre Company, Women’s Theatre Workshop, Dream Theatre, Atlanta and Chicago Fringe Festivals and at the Great Plains Theatre Conference.
I’m also an award winning Co-Producer, Director, Writer and Sound Engineer for Small Fish Radio Theatre and Thespinarium. (See the menu above for more on those.)
I especially enjoy teaching playwriting to Chicago Public High School Students through the Outreach Program at Pegasus Theatre.
What kind of work do I write? Whether it’s a play about social justice, love, life, death, what happens to garbage after we die or whether or not to eat paper in public, I try to explore our humanity from unique, empathetic, compassionate and alternative perspectives—drawing the audience into whatever world I construct through inventive use of space, sound, character, metaphor, small moments and big ideas.
